Article in Le Temps

An article in the Swiss daily “Le Temps” on the development of renewable energy sources focussed on recent achievements in high energy efficiency buildings in the “Holistic perimeter” in  Neuchâtel. Among these, the spotlight was on the new branch of the EPFL, the Microcity building, which was designed on the basis of creative research into optimization and innovation. For example, the photovoltaics centre on the roof provides for the annual electricity needs of roughly 64 households while the building’s cooling system is run ecologically thanks to an underground circuit using water from the lake.
