Swiss Living Challenge

As a Bronze partner, Bauart is supporting the Swiss Living Challenge action by taking part in the Solar Decathlon competition organized by the American Department for Energy in October 2017. This university-level competition is organized into 10 events where teams of students compete to design and build full-size, highly energy-efficient houses. Representing Switzerland, our team includes students from the EPFL, HEIA in Fribourg, HEAD in Geneva and the University of Fribourg. Their bold new design proposes a modular neighbourhood home called the NeighborHub. The aim is to offer an ecologically responsible and federative place that promotes exchange between the inhabitants of a neighbourhood to encourage them to move forward together towards sustainability. The students have chosen seven themes: energy, mobility, materials, biodiversity, food, waste management as well as freshwater management.
