Renovation work on the Brückenkopf building in Bern has begun. With the help of a 60-meter-high crane, the building was demolished, dismantled and disassembled. In keeping with the motto “urban living”, the 1960s office block is now being converted into small flats (1.5 to 3.5 rooms) and lofts. The slab-and-column architecture will be re-interpreted using a self-supported static system, free-standing walls and a totally innovative façade.
