International recognition for the Celgene building in Couvet

09.04.2019 | The new Celgene production site in Couvet has won the “Facility of the Year Award”, in the environmental sustainability category.  Awarded by the “International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) », this international distinction aims to promote innovation and creativity in the development of manufacturing facilities in the healthcare sector and to recognize excellence in design, construction and operation. The architectural design developed by Bauart takes full advantage of the specific features of both the programme and site to create a campus which merges all production and administration areas, the company restaurant, storage centre and medicinal product packaging building into a coherent and constantly evolving whole. Key elements in this process are energy efficiency and integration of sustainable energy, notably with geothermal piles and rooftop solar installations, ecological water use and the conservation of extensive green spaces.
