Construction in underway on the OASSIS neighbourhood in Crissier. Carried out in several stages, the project involves numerous partners and in particular the contracting authority Patrimonium and the general contractor Losinger Marazzi. Ultimately, the new neighbourhood will accommodate several hundred homes, offices, shops and semi-public institutions. In terms of town planning, the future neighbourhood will offer five complementary entities – three open ‘islands’, a tertiary hub and a public garden. The exterior layout includes green roofs with vegetable gardens and photovoltaic panels, while the public garden will provide convivial surroundings for all users. In terms of architectural expression, the ‘islands’ will provide an explicit contrast between their mineral-based external facades and the lighter materials used on internal facades.
