Competition for the new Cardiovascular Centre, Inselspital, Bern

The "Lichtblick" project, developed by the team steered by Bauart Architectes & Urbanistes and Nickl & Partner Architekten, has won first prize in the international competition for the new Cardiovascular Centre at the Inselspital in Bern. The project was selected out of 12 proposals designed for this major hospital facility. The complex comprises a lower section located in a broad base upon which the upper volumes are positioned. This daring mix results in a coherent whole thanks especially to the creation of a practically transparent intermediary level which serves as a strong visual reference for easy comprehension of the building’s different functions. 

The projects will be exhibited at Murtenstrasse 40, in Bern, 
from September 20 until October 18, 2014, on Thursdays and Fridays from 4 to 8 pm, and on Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm
