The Ecoparc district, developed by Bauart, is featured in an article in ‘Espaces contemporains’ on the new Swiss-Romand urban landscape. By regenerating a brownfield site of some 4 hectares, the project involved building a new neighbourhood within immediate reach of public transport facilities. Its perimeter includes old warehouses renovated and converted as lofts and new premises housing flats, offices and specialized high-schools. Beyond the density, mobility and diversity issues it addresses, the Ecoparc district is hailed today as a pioneering experiment in the multi-faceted challenges inherent in all sustainable neighbourhoods.
