Emmanuel Rey has been invited to open a cycle of lectures organized by the Musée d'Art et d'Histoire in Neuchâtel (MAHN) during its exhibition Neuchâtel Avant-Après which brings face to face old and new views of the city. Entitled ‘Urban Development – between Disruptions and Continuity’, Prof. Rey’s lecture highlighted the age-old dynamics of transformation which define the urban fabric. By bringing historical landmarks and contemporary constructions by the Bauart Bureau into perspective, his talk furthermore revealed how the city’s identity today is made up of many different layers like a palimpsest.
